The GlowDOGGlow 5K and 1-mile fun run is less than two weeks away, which means we’re in the home stretch of our pooch to pavement training schedule.  So how did you do with the longer distance intervals last week?  Were you and your pup able to run up to 3.1 miles (A 5K!) in 35 minutes?

This week, we’re continuing on with the distance runs and increasing our session times up to 45 minutes.  These intervals will help condition both you and your dog to comfortably and confidently run about 1.5 – 2 miles per interval, and a total of 3-4 miles during each session.  Just think – if you can run 3.5 – 4 miles in 40-45 minutes, running the 5K will be a breeze!

If you’re new to training and don’t think you’ll be ready to run a 5K in two weeks, don’t worry. The GlowDOGGlow race is geared for runners and walkers of all skills levels.  Our fun, illuminated course is a blast for walkers a well!  Learn more about the race and register today!
