T-minus four days until SeeSpotRace’s GlowDogGlow! If you’d like to do one last review of training, please see our blog for previous sessions of Dr. Lauren Talarico and  We Ruff DC‘s Walking Training regiment.

Please remember to feed your dog their normal scheduled meal 90 minutes or more prior to exercise. It is never a good idea for a dog to exercise on a full stomach.

Week 10

Workout 1

  • Warm up for 5-10 minutes by walking at a very slow pace and allowing your dog to sniff and eliminate as necessary!
  • Pick up those paws and walk at a brisk, continuous pace without stopping for 35 minutes
  • Slow it down and allow your pooch to catch their breath for 5 minutes

Workout 2

  • Warm up for 5-10 minutes by walking at a very slow pace and allowing your dog to sniff and eliminate as necessary!
  • Pick up those paws and walk at a brisk, continuous pace without stopping for 30 minutes
  • Slow it down and allow your pooch to catch their breath for 5 minutes

Glow Dog Glow 5KLAST MINUTE TIPS

  • Dr.T recommends that you feed your pooch 3 hours before your race and make sure they are fully hydrated
  • Allow your pooch to fully eliminate before the race to prevent cramping
  • Make sure to have plenty of nice treats waiting at the finish line!

SEE YOU THIS SATURDAY! GOOD LUCK!
